'Til the Cows Come Home

I am having my drawing tomorrow and will be posting the winner on my active blog A Defined Life.  So, today is your last chance to enter.  I am giving away a $25.00 e-gift card to Barnes and Noble OR Best Buy.  Your choice.  The rules:  Follow my blog A Defined Life AND leave a comment letting me know you want to be included in the drawing.

I won't be posting again on this site 'til the cows come home.  Well, actually I don't plan to post here again even if the cows do come home, but I am leaving my options open by not deleting the blog completely.  This entire blog has already been imported into the other one.

I hope you will join me and the others who have moved over to A Defined Life, but if not, I thank you for following me here and wish you all the best on your photography journey.

Grace and peace,
Stephani

8.1.11 ~ Ahhhhh Rain! (Don't Forget the Giveaway!)

Don't forget I'm having a giveaway for the followers of my blog A Defined Life.  As you know I've decided to move this blog over there.  In fact I've already imported all of the posts and things are going great at that site!  My final post on this site will be August 6th!

We received just a slight splash of rain this weekend while I was out of town.  So good to see the rain even if only for a few minutes!

7.26.11 ~ I'm Moving and a Giveaway!

Well,  I finally made the decision to make the big move and blend my two blogs together.  In fact, I have already redesigned my main blog, A Defined Life, and you will see that it looks strikingly similar to this one! Okay, okay, it looks exactly like this one.  I really liked this design so I just moved it over!  Maybe I'll change it later, who knows.

I love all of my followers and have appreciated you being such a big part of this photo blog and praying that you will want to come on over to A Defined Life, and follow me there.  For all the die hard photographers who don't like wordy blogs, I hope you will be pleasantly surprised at my new blog as I continue to make the same types of photography posts over there.  I currently post about 2-3 times a week on each blog.  My hope is with one blog, I can post about 5 times a week in one place!

The new blog will have more of an emphasis on photography than it did before, but it will have some posts with more writing than this one currently has.  I am really excited about this change and hope you will be too!

Now, to say a big thank you to you who are following me,

I have decided to have a giveaway!  I will be giving a $25.00 e-gift card away to one lucky follower.   You will have your choice of a card from Barnes & Noble OR Best Buy.

There are only a couple of a rules.  You must be a follower of my new blended blog, A Defined Life.  So, if you are currently a follower of that blog, just leave me a comment saying, "I am following and want to be included in the giveaway." If you are not currently a follower, then you will need to sign up as a follower of A Defined Life, and then leave me a comment telling me you have signed up and would like to be included in the giveaway.

The drawing will take place on Saturday, August 6th.  I will announce the winner both here and at A Defined Life.

I love you guys, and hope you will continue with me on my photography journey at A Defined Life!

P.S. ~ Does anyone know how to import this blog into the other.  I clicked on the import button, but didn't fully understand how to save and import. Thanks!

7.19.11 ~ I Need Your Input

Good morning everyone! I need a little advice. I am contemplating the idea of merging my two blogs somehow. I currently maintain this blog and a daily blog called A Defined Life. I hate the thought of giving one up, they are kind of my babies, but the idea would be to combine everything in one place where my photography and other writing is on one blog. With everything I have going on, it is a bit difficult to get enough posts going on both blogs. I love both my blogs, but often wish everything and everyone was on one page. I just don't know what I should do. I know I would probably lose some followers from one or the other.

What do you think?

7.17.11 ~ Scavenger Hunt

It's been awhile since I participated in Scavenger Hunt Sunday, but I needed a kick to get me using my camera to take pictures of something other than pretty skies!  I've been in a funk lately, maybe because of all my family responsibilities and the little time I have on hand.  Anywho . . . it's been fun to do something different this week, playing with the editing etc.  So here we go . . .

7.12.11 ~ Hope

But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
 ~ Psalm 9:18

When I saw this phenomenon in the sky the other evening, a ray of light breaking through a storm-filled swirl of darkness, I couldn't help but think of the hope that can always be found in God.

When the storms of life rage around me, God does not leave me in the dark.

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
(from the hymn, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus)

7.10.11 ~ Rear View

Yes, this IS what it looks like - a photo of the sunset in my rear view mirror.  I was on my way home the other evening, and had already pulled over to take some shots of the sunset prior to this.  You can see one here that I posted a few days ago.  This is the same sunset.   And yes, I did stop in the middle of the street to take this shot, but I did put on my flashing hazard lights (since I was creating a hazard) and I kept checking the rear view mirror for oncoming cars.  Luckily the street was totally empty.  Oh the lengths we go to to take a shot, but that glorious sunset was worth it!

What crazy things have you done to get the shot you want?

I'm sharing with Sunset Sunday.

7.09.11 ~ Black Grapes

I guess I'm just in a mood for fruit lately with this post of grapes and my pineapple post a few days ago!

After washing them in my pink colander, I thought to myself, "Now that would make a pretty picture!"

If you look closely at the reflection on the wet grapes towards the right side of the bowl, you will notice the blue sky.  I sat the grapes in front of a window to take this picture so I could get some good natural lighting, not knowing I would capture the blue sky on the water!

How about you?  Do you like black grapes?  If not, what's your favorite fruit?
