Violeta Dabija

I fell in love with Violeta Dabija's whimsical and fantasy world illustrations. She is a children's book illustrator from Moldova who has published 24 books so far. If I were a kid, I would love to have a beautiful illustration in my room to help me day-dream. You can buy her prints for your precious little one here

Dilar Pereira, Portugal

I came across Dilar Pereira visiting Warmtoast Cafe and his collages in canvas caught my eyes. Dilar posts an original collage everyday on his blog- a truly unique concept and a lot of work too! I like the vibrant colors and the prices are very affordable, for only 25 you can turn a wall that's crying for some excitement into a thankful and happy one. :o)

Black & White

Nothing makes it easier for classic to meet modern than black and white. I love it because it can be applied to any design style. Put it in a modern white room & it will bring character into the room. A black and white curtain hanging from a white rod in an orange room & and it is effortlessly chic. Its versatility can be well used in any room. Above a few items I find chic and affordable. Top left, a lamp from Anthropologie, rest from BoConcept.

Christopher Spitzmiller

You probably all know the beautiful handmade ceramic lamps by Christopher Spitzmiller, (top). I would definitely buy one if I didn’t have others priorities where to spend all that money on. I thought that it would be good to try to find something similar for those who crave Christopher Spizmiller's lamps but cannot afford them. I found these ones at Target, which give a similar look. They would go perfectly well in a modern house or a traditional one.

Walking at Target

Walking in Target I found this cute basket made of natural fibers. For some reason it reminded me of Ralph Lauren Home collection. I would put it in a foyer of a country home or next to a fireplace filled with, of course, some home design magazines. Um…. just by imagining it makes me want a hot coco.

The Nest Chair

The Nest Chair by the Australian designer Sally Dominquez is for the first time in US. If I had a baby this is the chair I would definitely buy. Considering that it’s adjustable and you can use it until your child reaches the 6 years, the price is very reasonable. At Modern Seed.
